Sabor

Three hundred years ago, Gauchos (Brazilian Cowboys) roamed the Pampas, the rich grasslands of Southern Brazil. Their zest for life was fueled by the elements of nature that surrounded them – the earth, air, fire and water. Those same elements inspired Kahler Slater as they designed the rich interior space of this unique new restaurant in downtown Milwaukee. I wanted to find artwork that captured that same spirit and complimented the architecture. As a result, I researched a number of artists from Brazil and eventually found Aline Sofia. Her work so purely represents the land, the culture, as well as the look and feel of an authentic Brazilian Churrascaria (steakhouse).
